Sharon Lee Garrett-Hayes

Sharon Lee Garrett-Hayes, 63, of Caldwell, left this world on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 in her home.  She was born November 12, 1953, daughter of the late Dale and Kathleen Garrett.

Sharon was a 1971 graduate of Caldwell High School and an active alum helping plan reunions.  She was a long-time employee of the State Library of Ohio’s SEO Library Center for 33 years where she put her heart and spirit into the success of the member libraries before her retirement in 2015.  Sharon was a long-time member of the Caldwell United Methodist Church. She was also an avid reader.

Sharon was loved and will be missed by her family; husband Larry Hayes and faithful dogs Peep and Squirt, son Bradley Clark of Caldwell, daughter Ashlee (Sean) Tominey and grandson Jack of Crystal Lake, IL, stepdaughter Eliza (Andre) Williams and granddaughters Aura and Auzie of Raleigh, North Carolina, stepson Levi Hayes (Cassie Rinehart) of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, and sister Sheryl (Richard) Wyscarver of Quaker City and nieces Abby (Dean) Fusco and Lindsay (Keith) Roe.

Friends will be received Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. The Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Larry Hukill officiating.  Burial will follow in Sharon Cemetery in Sharon.

Memorial contributions may be directed in Sharon’s name to the Marietta Home Health and Hospice, 450 Pike Street, Suite I-1, Marietta, OH 45750.

Sharon’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to those that helped care for her: Brenda Michel, Julia Young, Jackie Wilson, Dianna Clark, Veronica Bender, Shirley Hayes, Marcy Welsh, Dr. Kelly Cawley, Dr. Srini Vasan, the staff of the Strecker Cancer Center and Marietta Home Health and Hospice (especially Colton and Charity).
