Lewis Young

 Lewis J. “Junior” Young age 93, of Zanesville, OH formerly of Caldwell, OH passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014 at the Primrose Assisted Living in Zanesville. He was born January 14, 1921 in Elk Township in Noble County, OH a son of the late Lewis and Mary Hickinbothan Young.

Lewis was a graduate of Caldwell High School, Ohio University in Athens and Kent State University. He served and protected our Nation in the US Army Air Corps, serving in the 312th Bomb Group from August 1942 to October 1945 in WWII. He taught industrial arts at the Canfield Middle and High Schools for over 30 years.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by daughter Catherine Dunn; son David Young and 2 brothers-in-law Clay Hedge and John L. Hedge.

He was loved and will be missed by his family, wife Neva Hedge Young, whom he married Dec. 22, 1945; son Lawrence Young of Knoxville, TN; 2 grandchildren Mark Young and Alicia Young; 2 brothers-in-law James E. Hedge of Marion, OH and R. Dale (Betty) Hedge of Cumberland; sister-in-law Lavina Mae Hedge of Cumberland. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

 A memorial service will be held on Sunday March 30,2014 at 1:00PM at the Hiramsburg United Methodist Church.  Inurnment will be held in the Olive Cemetery in Caldwell at the convenience of the family. Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724 has been entrusted to care for the family.
