Julia Mika age 97, of Cumberland, OH passed away Monday morning, November 9, 2015 at her home. She was born July 7, 1918 in Ava, Ohio a daughter of the late John and Anna Duran Fafrak.
She was a member of the Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pleasant City, OH. She always liked flowers and could often be found sewing and quilting, which were her passions. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Andrew Mika, whom she married Dec. 25, 1945 and who passed in 1980; 5 brothers John, Martin, Steve, Andy and Paul Fafrak; 1 sister Mary Montowski and 1 sister-in-law Lottie “Babe” Fafrak.
Those left to cherish her memory are, 1 daughter Janette Mika of Cumberland; 2 sons Richard (Linda) Mika of Macedonia, OH and Larry Mika of Cumberland; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law Fran Fafrak of Zanesville, OH and Millie Mika of Caldwell. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 10252 Pine St, Pleasant City, OH 43772, with Rev. Christopher Cahill officiating. Burial will follow in the Hiramsburg Cemetery in Hiramsburg, OH.
