Fay R. Rowland (nee: Anderson), age 77, of Marietta and Lorain, Ohio Passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016 following a lengthy battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) at  Brookdale Marietta in Ohio. She was born January 24, 1939 in Confluence, PA, daughter of the late Charles and Mary (nee: Silbaugh) Anderson.
 
Fay was the president of the board of the following agencies: Private Industry Council, Junior Achievement, Lorain County Arthritis Foundation, and United Way of Greater Lorain County. She was a member of Lorain County Leadership Class of 1985, board member of St. Joseph hospital, and a trustee of Lorain County Community College Foundation. She was also a member of Lorain Rotary Club, co-chair of Echoing Hills Fundraiser, co-founder and charter member of  Profitable Investment Club (PIC) and a trustee of Rowland Family Foundation. In 1991 Fay was one of the recipients of the Lorain YWCA Women of Achievement award.
 
Fay graduated from Turkey Foot Valley High School in 1956. Fay was the CEO of Universal Container Repair from 1968 to 2000, co-owner & manager of the Double R Ranch House in Lorain from 1980 to 1986, co-owner & manager of Images Salon and Spa in Lorain from 1985 to 1997, and in 2000 became a wellness consultant with Nikken. 
 
Fay enjoyed writing, raising orchids, landscape photography, decorating, and was an avid bird lover. Fay was known for her party planning, decorating, and organizational skills. Fay loved to research family genealogy, and wrote several books on family history. Fay created her own line of greeting cards that she sent to family and friends, and wrote and published several books about her beloved dogs. 
 
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary (nee: Silbaugh) Anderson, and her sister Irene Shipley.
 
Those left to cherish her memory, are her husband of 41 years, Billy S. Rowland, whom she married May 17,  1974; daughters Tracy Longwell of Grafton, OH, Kitte Taylor (John) of Bay Village, OH, Carla Park (Jim) of Amherst, OH, Tina Everson (Kim) of Long Beach, CA, Melody Howarth (Alan) of Laguna Beach, CA, and Joy Brackney of Reno, Nevada; a son William Rowland (Ping) of Elyria, OH; 15 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren; siblings Carol Getty (Jim) of Bel Aire, Maryland, Charles Anderson, Jr. (Judy) of Greensburg, PA, and  Georgia Redding (Norman) of North Huntington, PA. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends. 
 
Friends and family are invited to a “Celebration of Life” on Friday May 6, 2016 at 6:00 pm at House of Praise International Church, 4321 Elyria Ave., Lorain, Ohio 44055 with Pastor Gilbert Silva officiating.
