Denver Leo Schell

Denver Leo Schell age 84, of Akron, OH, formerly of Senecaville, OH passed away Monday, January 11, 2016 at the Akron General Medical Center in Akron. He was born July 21, 1931 in Zanesville, OH a son of the late Edward “Ed” and Florentine Fox Schell.

Denver was a member of St. Mary’s of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulda, OH. He was a charter member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 221 in Caldwell, OH, Honorary Life Member of the Caldwell Knights of Columbus and was a member of the United Mine Workers, Local 1604. Denver served his community as a township trustee for Enoch Township, for 20 plus years. He could often be found hunting and fishing in his spare time.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter Lisa Timms; step-son Gary Hannahs; first wife Phyllis Schell and a sister-in-law Leona Schell.

Those left to cherish his memory are wife Agatha L. Leasure Schell, whom he married October 17^th, 1987; son Nick (Penny) Schell of Dexter City, OH; daughter Julie Schell Morrison of Caldwell; step-children Myron (Mary Jane) Hannahs and Tony Hannahs all of Ravenna and Lisa (Dale Holler) Hannahs  of Akron; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers Melvin Schell of Columbus, OH, Ronald (Rose) Schell of Caldwell and Fred (Carol) Schell of Dexter City; 1 sister Barbara (Clarence “Smitty”) Smithberger of Pickerington, OH; sister-in-law Roma Jean Wharton of Caldwell and brother-in-law Argyll Leasure of Senecaville. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends may join the family for Visitation on Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM, with a Vigil Service held at the conclusion of visitation at 5:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, Ohio 43724. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 18, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fulda, with Rev. Father Chester Pabin serving as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
