Andrew "Andy" S. Pakes Sr.June 19, 1949 ~ July 20, 2017 (age 68)
Andrew “Andy” S. Pakes Sr. age 68, of Caldwell, OH passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, OH. He was born June 19, 1949 in Santa Monica, CA, a son of the late Joseph Eugene Pakes and Ann Mishlan Pakes Morris.
Andy served and protected his country in the United States Navy. He retired from the former Mahle Manufacturing Plant in 2009 following 30 plus years of service. For several years, he coached youth and high school football, basketball, baseball and softball. He formerly owned and operated the AMVETS Post 821 in Pleasant City, OH. He could often be found enjoying a ride on his Harley Davidson or spending time on his mower, mowing his yard.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother Joe Pakes; nephew Barry Carpenter and mother-in-law Christina Long.
Those left to cherish his memory, are wife Staci Pakes; children Shawn McCarty of South Carolina, Andy (Carol) Pakes Jr. of Caldwell, Daniel (Sharon) Pakes of Caldwell, Aaron (Lori) Pakes of Mt. Ephraim, Kaitlynn, Kaiden, Kaci and Kandi Pakes of the home; 7 grandchildren; nephew Joshua McElfresh; siblings Linda (Mike) Speece of Clarington, OH, Dave Pakes of Caldwell, David J.R. Morris of Zanesville, OH and Jon (Jeanie) Morris of Cambridge, OH. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation Monday, July 24, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, Ohio 43724. A funeral service will be held concluding visitation on Monday at 6:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jim Porter officiating. Military honors will follow the service at the Funeral Home conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
